As one of the eight unique arts and crafts in ancient Beijing, jade carving was crowned as a national intangible cultural heritage in the year 2008. The technique with gold and silver inlay, especially enjoys a reputation of high art, scientific and historical values. Guo Weijun, a renowned craftsman in gold and silver inlaid jade carving, has been promoting and innovating this technique so that it can be known and favored by more people and the traditional culture be passed down.
