YANGON, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold its first-ever investment summit in the capital city Nay Pyi Taw next year, a senior official told a press conference Tuesday.

Organized by the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), the "Invest Myanmar Summit-2019" will be held in January 28-29, the first collaboration summit between the government and the country's private sector.

"The summit acts as a platform for the businesses to meet with potential partners and for investors to have access to union, regional and private sector business projects", U Wai Phyo, chairperson of Invest Myanmar Summit said.

Investors from Australia, China, China's Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Britain, the United States and the European Union are invited to the two-day summit.

The summit will also bring together participations of union ministers, regional governments from the country's nine states and regions, and professional organizations.

Aimed at attracting more investment to local businesses, the summit will feature local businesses from eight sectors, including manufacturing, garment, power generation and distribution, tourism, education, food processing and fishery, healthcare, infrastructure and property.
