BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, will attend the 14th round of China-Russia strategic security consultation in Russia from Aug. 14 to 17.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said Yang's attendance is at the invitation of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

The last round of such consultation was held in Beijing in July last year.
