FRANKFURT, March 14 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up by 16.71 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 12,237.74 points.

German sportswear and equipment maker Adidas won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 9.53 percent. Energy group RWE and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 4.45 percent and 2.05 percent respectively.

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 0.91 percent. Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement went down by 0.65 percent and 0.56 percent respectively.

Adidas was the most-traded share with a turnover of 672.46 million euros (831.76 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
