BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- A 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Hindu Kush region at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 36.5 degrees north latitude and 70.87 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
