HONG KONG, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 5.9 magnitude jolted 145 km SE of Kirakira, Solomon Islands on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 23.5 km, was initially determined to be at 11.1957 degrees south latitude and 163.0205 degrees east longitude.
