PUEBLA, Mexico, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Spain beat Peru 3-1 in its last warmup game ahead of the FIFA World Cup on Monday.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente started Unai Simon in goal, while Marc Cucurella, Marcos Llorente, Aymeric Laporte and Pau Cubarsi were in defense behind a midfield of Rodri, Pedri and Fabian Ruiz, with Alex Baena and Ferran Torres on the wings and Mikel Oyarzabal leading the attack.

Oyarzabal needed under two minutes to put Spain ahead with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the area beyond goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.

Spain doubled the lead in the 32nd minute when Torres found space on the right and pulled a precise ball back for Pedri to slot into an empty net.

De la Fuente brought David Raya, Yeremy Pino, Dani Olmo and Eric Garcia into the game at halftime, as the coach looked to spread the workload among his players.

Spain made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute when Gallese stretched to try and tip wide Pino's cross only for his slight touch to take the ball into his own net, before Jairo Velez salvaged some pride for Peru with a powerful shot in the 66th minute.

De la Fuente said he was happy none of his players had picked up knocks and insisted that the injured trio of Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal and Victor Munoz would all be fit to play next week.

"We are pleased with everything that we have done. The players are in good shape, we haven't had any injuries," commented the coach.

"We will look at other situations in the coming days, but we are very happy with our feeling after this game," he added.

The team now returns to its training base in Chattanooga, Tennessee to continue preparations.

Spain kicks off its World Cup campaign against Cabo Verde on June 15 before facing Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group H.
