NEW YORK, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The San Antonio Spurs beat the New York Knicks 115-111 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday to cut the series deficit to 2-1.

Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks. Stephon Castle added 23 points, while rookie Dylan Harper had 13 points and nine rebounds.

In a game with U.S. President Donald Trump in attendance, the Spurs built an 11-point lead in the first quarter, but the Knicks responded with a blistering second period, in which they shot more than 70 percent from the field and outscored San Antonio by 18 points to take the lead. The Spurs then seized the momentum back with a series of scoring runs in the second half.

The defeat ended the Knicks' 13-game winning streak in this season's playoffs, as they lost for the first time since April 23 in Game 3 of their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.

Jalen Brunson paced the Knicks with 32 points, five rebounds and five assists. OG Anunoby added 28 points.

The Knicks continue to host Game 4 on Wednesday. ■
