HANOI, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in a traffic accident in central Vietnam's Dak Lak province on Monday morning, local daily Tuoi Tre reported.
The incident occurred at around 8:50 a.m. local time, when a tractor-trailer crashed into a motorbike traveling in the opposite direction, killing both people on the motorbike at the scene and severely damaging the vehicle, the report said.
Further investigation is underway.
According to the National Statistics Office, Vietnam recorded 3,926 traffic accidents in the first quarter of this year, leaving 2,407 people dead and 2,352 others injured. ■
