NICOSIA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Cyprus' economy maintained steady growth in 2025, with real GDP reaching 30.52 billion euros (35.7 billion U.S. dollars), up 3.8 percent year-on-year, the Statistical Service said in a report on Monday.
At current prices, Cyprus' GDP -- also called nominal GDP, which reflects both output and price changes -- rose 4.5 percent last year to 36.32 billion euros (42.49 billion U.S. dollars), driven by strong performance in information and communication, construction, hospitality, and wholesale and retail trade sectors.
Meanwhile, Cyprus' tourism sector reached a new record, generating 3.7 billion euros (4.3 billion U.S. dollars) in 2025, up 15.2 percent from 2024, according to the report.
Tourist arrivals topped 4.5 million for the first time, and the industry's share of GDP rose to about 14 percent, reinforcing its role as a key driver of growth, the report added. ■
