As a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage from China's Jiangxi Province, the Chengnan Dragon Lantern has been spread to 36 countries and regions since 2000. It has also found a place in classrooms overseas during this process.

In recent years, Chinese language schools and local primary and secondary schools in some countries and regions have added the lighter, redesigned dragon lanterns to their multicultural programs, helping children learn Chinese culture through hands-on dragon dancing.
