TUNIS, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin on Thursday said China will deepen cooperation and promote friendly ties with the North African country.
Wang added that China will continue to support Tunisia's economic and social development.
He made the remarks at the ceremony of presenting credentials to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.
Wang stressed that the upcoming Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September this year will bring new opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation.
The Tunisian president said his country is willing to join hands with China to promote better development of bilateral relations.
Essebsi thanked China's long-term support, and expressed hope that the support will continue for Tunisia's economic, social development and transition.
